Margot Robbie (Who’s Working On 10 Films) Is Tired Of Being Asked About Kids
Oscar-nominated actress Margot Robbie, who is currently working on 10 upcoming films, has revealed she is tired of being asked about children in interviews.
The Australian star, 28, said she wants people to stop 'presuming' she'll have kids after her marriage to British producer and director Tom Ackerley in 2016.
"I got married and the first question in almost every interview is 'Babies? When are you having one?' I'm so angry that there's this social contract," Robbie told RadioTimes. "You're married, now have a baby. Don't presume. I'll do what I'm going to do."
Robbie, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 2017's I, Tonya, is surely one of the hardest-working women in Hollywood and is currently attached to 10 projects, including Quentin's Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Suicide Squad 2, Barbie, Birds of Prey, Gotham City Sirens, Marian, an Untitled Joker/Harley Quinn Project, Ruin, Dreamland and an Untitled Roger Ailes Project. Phew!
The actress, who found a career breakthrough in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, explained that she was tired of waiting for interesting female film roles to come to her, so she decided to set up her own film company.
"I wasn't seeing many scripts where I wanted to play the female role - I always wanted to play the male role," she said. "The female roles are always a catalyst for the male story, and that's unsatisfying.
"So I was like, 'Well, we'll start making our own films, because we can't just sit around for ever and wait for them to come along'."
Last year, Robbie revealed that the upcoming Harley Quinn spin-off is set to be a 'R-rated girl gang' film.
She told Collider at the time: "I pitched the idea of an R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, 'Harley needs friends'. Harley loves interacting with people, so don't ever make her do a standalone film.
