There's now less than two weeks to go until we finally get to watch Game Of Thrones season eight, and we can't stop ourselves from searching day and night to learn as much as we can about the final instalment of the beloved show, without finding out too many juicy details of course. Now thanks to Maisie Williams, we've been treated to one major and devastating spoiler.

On an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Maisie, who plays Arya Stark on the show, was begged by Jimmy to reveal something about season eight. He asked: "Can you tell me anything? Are you allowed to talk about anything?"

At first, Maisie resisted, saying: "I've decided to just keep a tight lip on everything. HBO have sent out a lot of memos recently about just saying nothing. So, there's really nothing I could say, they would absolutely kill me."

However, Jimmy refused to give up in his desperation to know more about the highly-anticipated season. He said: "You couldn't give one little spoiler, one little hint - a crumb is all I ask. M'lady, a crumb is all I'm asking."

Finally, Maisie gave in, accidentally revealing a giant spoiler. She said: "During shooting, like, the final days were really emotional saying goodbye to all of the cast because when I found out that Arya died in like the second episode I was..."

The moment she dropped the clanger.

Excuse me, what?! What does this mean?!

After realising what she'd done, Maisie looked seriously shaken as she realised what she'd done, her hands trembling as she covered her mouth. She asked Jimmy if the team could edit out her huge blunder, then ran off the stage, leaving Jimmy unusually silent as he ran after her.

However, Maisie's incredible acting skills were to thank for the whole episode: eventually, both Maisie and Jimmy popped round from behind a curtain, shouting "April Fool's!"

Maisie fled the stage and Jimmy looked worried.

Jimmy then shouted: "You are good, you are so good. Oh my God, we got your guys so bad. Maisie Williams everybody."

Phew. While we are thrilled not to have found out a spoiler, we're also really pleased that Maisie won't be getting into any trouble with the producers. Imagine dropping a spoiler that major by mistake...

Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere on April 14, 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
