Channel 5's 'Missing Or Murdered: The Disappearance of Luke Durbin' Coming Next Month

A Channel 5 documentary will delve into the mysterious case of 19-year-old Luke Durbin, who disappeared after a night out in Ipswich on May 12th 2006.

Airing on Tuesday 28th April, Missing Or Murdered: The Disappearance of Luke Durbin will delve into the chilling case which remains unsolved, reveal eye-opening new information.

Luke was reported missing on Saturday 13th after he didn't return home, and soon a huge police investigation was launched.

CCTV shows footage of Luke trying to find his way home after his night out, but having left his phone and wallet at a friend's house, taxis refused to take him and there were no buses or trains.

The last confirmed sighting of Luke is on CCTV, close to the bus station around 4am on 12th May.

Following this, there was one more report of a sighting of Luke being driven in a dark blue Renault Megane between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 13th in Woodbridge.

Over the following weeks, the Suffolk police conducted searches on foot, with dog units and via helicopter, as well as speaking to over 100 people logged on Luke's mobile phone and media appeals by Luke's devastated family.

"In a final image Luke walks over a zebra crossing close to the bus station but then disappears out of the lives of his family and friends. What happened to him?," the official Channel 5 summary reads.

"This is a high profile mystery, and for the first time, we reveal dark details about Luke's involvement in drugs and drug-dealing.

"Did he tread on the toes of other dealers, and is his disappearance linked to a turf war? Could someone have done him harm? Did Luke decide to start a new life somewhere else as unconfirmed sightings suggest? Or was he taken to another city and forced to work off drug debts?"

It finishes: "For his loved ones, it's been 13 years of agony and this film explores the answer to one question they keep asking - is Luke Durbin missing or murdered?"

Missing Or Murdered: The Disappearance of Luke Durbin airs on Channel 5 on Tuesday 28th April at 10pm.
