Ever since Lucifer Season 5 dropped on Netflix last Friday, fans have been sitting down to binge watch all eight episodes in one go.

Now, having raced through the first part of the season already (there's a Part 2 still to come), viewers are calling for Netflix to release the second half immediately.

Leading up to the release, hardcore Lucifer fans couldn't wait for Season 5 to drop - especially considering the cliffhangers in Season 4.

In the final episode of the last instalment, Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) decides to leave earth and head back to the underworld - much to viewers' anguish.

Many were especially desperate to know the outcome of his romance with Detective Chloe Decker.

From the trailer we already knew there would be a major twist in Season 5 - Lucifer's evil twin brother Michael arriving on Earth and pretending to be him.

And without giving away any spoilers, after binging the show in full, fans are demanding the release of Part 2.

One person tweeted: "Just finished #Lucifer season 5 part 1 and you guys killed it as always!! now i can't wait for part 2!!"

While another wrote: "Just binge watched Lucifer Season 5 part 1. Loved it. I need Season 5 part 2. That's not fair to stop at such ending."

While one added: "Omg why is Lucifer so good?!!! When is part 2 season 5 coming?!!"

"Finished season 5 part 1 of lucifer AND GIRJDBWKDNEKWN pls part 2 come out NOW," wrote one fan.

So when will Part 2 be released?! Well, fans will be happy to know there are another eight more episodes to come, however it could be a while before they arrive on Netflix.

As with many shows, the production of Season 5 was shut down due to the pandemic. Speaking to Da Man magazine, Tom Ellis explained: "We were agonisingly close to wrapping but lockdown beat us. So, we still have 60 percent of our season five finale to shoot."

Although nothing has been confirmed, it's reported that filming could start up again at some point in October and we're holding out hope that Part 2 could arrive in the first half of 2021.

There is some good news, however. Creators have confirmed that there will be a sixth season of the show and according to Tom, who spoke to the Guardian, they're set to film the sixth instalment at the same time as Season 5 - so hopefully we won't be waiting yonks for that one!
