Love Island's Curtis Pritchard caused a sex website to crash after he revealed his favourite position was "the eagle", which drove viewers to Google to find it what it exactly entailed.

During Tuesday night's installment, the Islanders took part in a challenge that saw them try to correctly guess which secret belonged to which contestant in the Villa.

The game revealed that ballroom dancer Curtis' favourite sex position was "the eagle", which sees one partner lying on their back with their legs spread apart or "spread eagle".

Curtis sent viewers wild with his admission.

It's said to be similar to be missionary but the person lying down has their legs wide and in the air, rather than straight and flat on the bed - so there you are.

He said: "The eagle is my favourite romantic position, we shall say. I will leave you all to find that one out yourself because I'm not telling you what it is".

The admission sparked curiosity among fans of the ITV2 series who flooded Google to find out exactly what it entailed.

According to Love Island's official Twitter account, viewers' curiosity got the better of them and crashed a website called "sexinfo101.com" after it became the most searched sex position on Google.

The account presented users with an error message, which read: "This website is under heavy load (queue full)."

Meanwhile, numerous fans shared screenshots of their failed searches, joking that they were pleased they weren't the only ones who had to look up the position.

Sharing a snap of their search, one viewed wrote: "Guess I wasn't the only one who wanted to know what the eagle was #LoveIsland".

"Certain man searching for 'the eagle' to spice up their sex life #loveisland," a second penned.

Another shared: "How many people had to google what the eagle was?... asking for a friend".

However, it wasn't only the general public who were confessed about the position but also Curtis' brother, Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard.

He tweeted: "The question I have woke up asking myself is, 'What the hell is the eagle position?'"

Despite sharing a rather intimate detail, viewers are unlikely to see Curtis enact his favourite position in the villa, as he said before entering the series sex was too "private" for a reality show.
