Suddenly summer is looking up!

If you're still lamenting the loss of this year's Love Island UK due to pesky coronavirus then we have some good news.

No... ITV hasn't done a U-turn... but the channel will be airing a brand new US series of the dating show for us to enjoy, filmed in the stunning hilltops of Las Vegas.

Broadcasting on ITV2 on the channel from 7th September at 9pm, the series will feature a whole new cast of Islanders arriving on the 'Island' and looking for love.

Due to the pandemic, the singletons will this year be sequestered in a "bubble", housed in a beautiful villa on top of Caesars Entertainment's boutique hotel, The Cromwell.

And, hey, if this is what a social bubble looks like then we want to sign up...

Like with series one, presenter Arielle Vandenberg will be there to watch over proceedings, while narrator Matthew Hoffman will return to wittily discuss (and mock) their antics.

As we know all too well by now, the game will see the group of islanders hunting for 'The One' amid a sea of obstacles and distracting 'bombshell' arrivals.

But whose relationship have what it takes to bag the $50,000 cash prize?

ITV has also revealed the line-up of 11 new arrivals entering the Las Vegas villa to start off the series - and they look like they're not going to disappoint.

There's Justine, 27, from Rockaway, New Jersey: a full-time billing coordinator and a part-time dancer, Moira, 28, from Brielle, New Jersey: a shopping channel model with a "thirst for adventure" and Cely, 24, from Sacramento, California, who was captain of her high school cheerleading team and has a degree in Criminal Justice.

Rounding off the girls are Kaitlynn, 27, from Lapeer, Michigan, who describes herself as "a small-town girl with a big personality" and Mackenzie, 24, from Scottsdale, Arizona, who only dates millionaires... No pressure there, then, lads.

As for the hunky men, we'll soon be meeting personal trainer Tre, 25, from Boca Raton, Florida, self described "karaoke king" Connor, 23, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and sales manager Carrington, 22, from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Joining them will be "country boy" Jeremiah, 22, from De Kalb, Mississippi, who is looking for "personality and good vibes," college track and field star Johnny, 22, from Chesapeake, Virginia, who also dabbles in modelling and hiking, and personal trainer James, 27, from Winchester, Virginia.

Paul Mortimer, ITV's Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions said: "We're thrilled that ITV2 can bring the latest US version of Love Island to viewers this year.

"Las Vegas may seem like an odd destination for the show but the canny producers have beaten Covid with a show that adheres to all production protocols and that could well be sensational.

"Certainly the 'villa' is impressive and the cast diverse and amazing. We believe Love Island fans will embrace this Sin City twist, my bet is the series will be another big hit."

Series 2 Love Island: USA starts on Monday 7th September at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
