Last night, viewers were introduced to 12 new islanders, all ready to find love on the winter series of Love Island.

But some eagle-eyed fans noticed an unexpected face in the grounds of the Cape Town mansion - a random man, hiding in the bushes.

Towards the end of the 90-minute ITV episode, Connor and Sophie can be seen having a chat on the day beds.

Connor is talking about his previous relationships and Sophie is telling the coffee bean salesman all about her family.

But, as the camera pans towards the decking, a man can be seen hiding among the shrubbery.

And viewers were quick to take to Twitter to point out the face, with one writing: "Who's the guy in the bush?"

Several viewers posted some witty comments on the thread, with one simply responding with an image of Joe from You.

Another said it could have been Lewis Capaldi, after it was revealed islander Paige is the singer's ex-girlfriend.

One even said it could be Dec, "waiting for the bush tucker trial clearing".

While a fourth viewer posted a video of the scene, writing: "Better up the security there's a man in the bush".

It's expected the person was merely a Love Island camera man or member of the crew.

The winter series of Love Island started last night with a special 90-minute episode.

As well as Connor and Sophie, Leanne coupled up with Mike, meanwhile Shaughna is paired with Callum, Siânnise with Nas and Paige with Ollie - although she did admit to "friend zoning" him in last night's ep.

At the end of the much awaited programme, twins Jess and Eve also joined the villa and although they now have to couple up with one of the boys, they were adamant they have never "gone for the same guy".

But as we all know, just about *anything* can happen on Love Island...
