Love Island Fans Left Baffled After Priya’s Dinosaur Comment

The Islanders weren’t the only confused ones.

We're beginning to think Love Island: Unseen Bits should be renamed Best Bits as some of the content on the Saturday show is absolute gold.

The latest conversation between Priya Gopaldas and the rest of the girls has got to be one of the strangest yet.

The girls were all lying on the daybed talking about stars (as you do) when Priya began to explain how if you were on the planet Mars, you'd be able to see dinosaurs on Earth.

Hmmm.

"If you had a really big telescope and you're sat on Mars and you look at the Earth from Mars with a telescope, you'd see dinosaurs because of the lightyears," said Priya.

"How weird is that," she added.

But fellow Islander Faye Winter was having none of it.

"You're talking s**t. I call b******t," said Faye.

"It takes ages for light to travel so it's millions and millions of years and dinosaurs were on the Earth so by the time the light comes," added Priya.

The girls were left pretty baffled by the remarks, as were Love Island fans watching the exchange who explained that Priya almost got it right.

One user commented, "No, that would mean Mars was 65 million lightyears away"

Another added, "She is right, she's just used the wrong planet as an example".

Some Love Island fans thought Priya was deliberately 'showing off' to make the others seem 'stupid'.

One user wrote, "I think she thrives on being the 'clever one'. Glad they called her out on it."

Another said, "Priya acts like she's the most 'popular' girl at school and she's trying to make the others look stupid because she thinks she's smarter than everyone else."

A third said, "Exactly she's clearly on the wrong show, go on The Weakest Link or something. We need entertainment on Love Island, not some boring geek who's trying to show off!"

Love Island continues weekdays and Sundays on ITV2 and the ITV Hub. Episodes are available to watch the next day on BritBox.
