‘Love Island’ Contestant Sherif Lanre Won’t Be Appearing On Spin-Off Show ‘Aftersun’
An ITV spokesperson told Pretty52 that the 20-year-old chef and semi-pro rugby player won't be appearing on the show this Sunday, saying there are "no plans" for him to talk about his departure from the villa.
Dumped Islanders are normally given an appearance on the show, where they can speak to presenter Caroline Flack about their experiences in the villa and relive key moments.
It is still unclear why exactly Sherif left the villa, though Twitter has been rife with speculation. Before his departure, Sherif was coupled up with 28-year-old pharmacist Anna Vakili, and their relationship looked to be hotting up after the pair shared a kiss.
The news of his departure was announced yesterday, saying that the decision for Sherif, who describes himself as "cheeky, confident and pretty flamboyant" to leave Love Island was "mutually agreed" because he had broken the villa rules.
In a statement, Sherif said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it's something I know I will take on board and learn from. I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
Sherif's departure was expected to be addressed in last night's episode, but instead of further information, all viewers got was a quick line from the much-beloved narrator Iain Stirling, once again saying that following a conversation with producers, Sherif "mutually decided to leave the villa".
