You'll probably know by now that Lizzie McGuire is coming back for a reboot, and now the show's star Hilary Duff has just given more exciting details about the comeback.

We first learnt the iconic noughties which enthralled teenage girls the world over would be making a return late last year, and we've been drip-fed details ever since.

Now, Hilary Duff, 31, who played the title character has teased even more juicy details about the Lizzie's return, including where the show picks up in her life.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hilary revealed she'd been working with Terri Minsky, the creator of the show who is returning as showrunner for the reboot which will be hosted on Disney+.

"Lizzie's 30 now and I really like the idea of her waking up on her 30th birthday and being like, This isn't where I thought I was going to be," said Hilary.

The A Cinderella Story actress spoke of using her own experiences of growing up and adulthood to identify with her character, one she first took on aged just 13 in 2001.

"My life has taken a few different forms and my moment wasn't on my 30th birthday, but it was definitely mid-20s, with a kid, already being like, 'Oh, this isn't going to look how I thought it was going to look'," she said.

"I really want to tap into that. She's everyone's best friend and what everyone loves about her is how relatable she is, so I really wanna go on that 30-year-old journey with everybody."

Hilary said she's been "in talks with Disney for a really long time" adding "now just felt like the right time."

Speaking at Disney's D23 Expo in late August, Hilary shared with excited fans on stage: "Just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and grew up with her, Lizzie also grew up.

"She is older, she is wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is exciting. She has her dream job. She has the perfect life."

In other exciting Lizzy McGuire news, the actress pretty much invited 'Juice' singer Lizzo to take part as a cameo.

When news of the latest Disney+ reboot was announced, Lizzo was quick to tweet a link to the announcement and plead: "Lemme get a cameo".

And it took no time at all for Hilary to respond, writing back: "Ummmmm duh! Hired! Animated Lizzie might explode! Saw you in Brooklyn. DEAD."

Lizzy McGuire first launched on the Disney Channel in January 2001, airing an impressive 65 episodes across two series, with the iconic series ending in February 2004.

We could NOT be more excited.
