Hands up - who is still reeling after Sunday night's explosive Line of Duty?

We're having heart palpitations just thinking of the nail-biting cliffhanger, which saw DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) facing off against cop-killer extraordinaire Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Parker) after being lured to a lorry park by Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald).

With both Kate and Ryan aiming their guns at one another, the screen goes black - and we hear two shots fired, before the credits roll (and the audience are left in the dark about who survived).

While we're hoping and praying Kate took corrupt copper Ryan down, actor Vicky McClure has seemingly suggested that Kate is the one that's killed off this series - several weeks before the scene made it to air.

Speaking to former Line of Duty star Craig Parkinson, who played 'the Caddy' Matthew 'Dot' Cottan on the Obsessed With...Line of Duty podcast, Vicky seemed to hint that her character could be about to kick the bucket.

Suggesting that he thought it was Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) who was going to meet his maker, Craig said: "I have put my chips on poor old Steve, up until this week... And as we know as actors, nobody is safe.

"When you started reading the script, how did you feel, how did Vicky feel when you were turning the page?"

Vicky replied: "Well listen, every episode of Line of Duty history is terrifying and [writer] Jed [Mercurio] is always there to serve the story - it is exactly what happened with Dot.

"Dot's time came when it was right to serve the story and that is what Jed will always do.

"I don't want to put everything out there but Jed serves the story."

Say it ain't so, Vicky?!

As always in Line of Duty, there are already dozens of theories about Kate's fate - with some suggesting she lives to see another day.

One fan took to Reddit after unearthing a clip from the season six we have all seen before but never knew its importance until now, which may give us some hints about who was shot and what has happened to Kate.

In a screengrab from the trailer you can see what looks like Ryan's dead body wearing the same clothes he was seen in at the end of episode five.

But there's only one way of knowing for certain - and that's tuning into Line Of Duty on Sundays at 9pm, on BBC One.
