This is just what we needed today.

When Line Of Duty was announced to have stopped filming in March, fans of the BBC show were gutted.

And thanks to the pandemic, it doesn't look like the series is returning to screens any time soon (*sob*).

But the show's creator Jed Mercurio found an ingenious way to keep us going in the absence of our favourite police investigators, dropping a hilarious blooper reel from back when the cast were filming.

Jed also shared the video to raise awareness of charity Asks for Masks' auction.

He wrote: "Here's another irreverent #LineofDuty video as a shameless inducement to support ⁦@asksformasks⁩. Bid for amazing lots in the charity auction and help provide much-needed PPE for health care staff".

The clips primarily feature Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure (

In the clip, Vicky, who plays DI Kate Fleming, is filming with Adrian Dunbar, who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings.

Despite being a seasoned pro, it's Adrian in particular who appears to struggle in the scenes. Primarily, when it comes to his coat.

Firstly, he's unable to get his coat off a hanger, and then another drops off the rack mid-way through the scene.

"This is golden...poor aid doesn't have much luck with coats," one fan of the show wrote.

While another penned: "I really needed this, it made me laugh!"

"Thanks for this Jed. Great to see the team again. It made me smile," a third wrote.

The post comes after Jed told fans the sixth season of Line Of Duty may well have to be rewritten as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"We're all considering [a re-write]," he said on The Andrew Marr Show.

"We shot for four weeks in a pre-lockdown world, and all that material would have to be re-shot if we were going to change things. That would have huge cost implications, but we are considering it."

Vicky McClure said, whatever the case, she's excited to return to set.

"I am [wanting to go back]," she told the host. "Even if it means re-shooting what we've already shot."
