It was no surprise that Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer scooped 80 percent of the public vote in the Love Island finale, but some fans were a little puzzled to see new couple Laura Anderson and Paul Knops make second place.

So much so that Ofcom received three complaints from angry fans who were fuming to see the pair in the final two.
At the time, there was social media uproar from viewers, and Twitter was split down the middle to see our gal Laura and Paul pipping the other official couples to the second place post.

Megan Barton-Hanson and Wes Nelson placed last out of the final four, and Kazimir Crossley and Josh Denzel came in third.
But while everyone's putting in their two pence about Laura and Paul bagging second place, here's why they were totally deserving of their spot in the finale...
- Laura was dumped twice but held her head high: Wes and Jack Fowler chose to end things with the blonde beauty after a couple of days, both telling her that they could be happier with someone else. Rather than ending up in a blubbing mess, the Scottish flight attendant took it on her chin, and went on to find her dream man in Paul, who treated her like a princess but respects her independent attitude.
- She forgave everyone who trespassed against her: Two gals stole two guys from Laura, but she let bygones be bygones rather than holding a grudge against Megan and Laura Crane. Yes, we aren't forgetting that rude word she called Megs, but she apologised straight away, and then wiped away Laura's tears when she was struggling with her romance with Jack F. We can all learn a lesson here.
- Laura stood by what she believed in: Remember that kiss between Jack and Georgia Steel? Laura believed what her man had to say, and did what the nation was asking, calling the drama student out on her so-called 'loyalty' to her best mate for taking her guy on a date. She also made it no secret from Paul that she wanted to have kids and get married, and honesty is the best policy.
We think we know who's the real winner here.
