Ever since the second series of Killing Eve came to an end, we've been waiting on tenterhooks for news of when the show would be returning. There was that ending, after all...

And while BBC has already revealed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge's show is returning to screens this year, they'd previously been pretty cagey about when.

However, now we finally have more details on when the show is hitting screens, and it looks like we're all in for a summer TV binge.

The news emerged after a TV source spoke to our friends at LADbible, and confirmed the popular assassin is set for a comeback in "June or July". Yaaas.

As has been the case with previous seasons, the show is expected to land on BBC America first, in April, before later coming to the UK after the season has completed its run in the US.

For those who fancy watching it all in one sitting, the entire series will then likely be made available on BBC iPlayer after the first episode has aired on BBC One.

In case you need a reminder where we're at, at the end of season two; Villanelle (Jodie Comer) left Eve (Sandra Oh) for dead in Rome, as their tense, sexually charged relationship reached boiling point.

Although, we think it's safe to say that Eve is still alive - otherwise the show's title would kinda be defunct, right?!

While we don't know much more about the plot of the next season, we do know that it's got an incredible new writer - Suzanne Heathcote - who previously worked on Fear the Walking Dead.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who wrote the first season and is an executive producer, said: "I'm very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three.

"We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote's hilariously murderous hands."

While Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios (joint-owners of BBC America) said:"Season three lead writer Suzanne Heathcote takes Eve, Villanelle and Carolyn to places more thrilling, twisted and surprising than ever. Our addicted fans will not be disappointed."

Not only is the third season in the works - having already started filming - we now know we're set to get a fourth, too.

Executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle added: "It is testament to everyone involved that we have been picked up so early - the magnificent actors, writers, directors and production team."

We can't wait!
