We are one dinosaur-sized footstep closer to the long-awaited third movie in the Jurassic World franchise. Jurassic World: Dominion, starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill will be released 10th June 2022.

The news was revealed exactly one year ahead of the film's release on Thursday. The announcement was posted on the official Jurassic World Instagram account with a picture of the iconic Jurassic World logo and the date underneath.

Earlier this week, Deadline reported that fans of the prehistoric adventure film will be able to catch a first glimpse in Imax theatres during showings of F9 starting on 25th June in more than 40 countries.

The preview will last five minutes and will unveil the third Jurassic World film's prologue, set 65 million years ago during the Cretaceous period when dinosaurs roamed the earth freely and before humans existed.

Director Colin Trevorrow gave fans a sneak peek at the film's prologue on Twitter (

Director Colin Trevorrow posted two teasers from the opening and they look epic. The first image shows an adorable, feathered Moros Intrepidus, and the second teaser is a poster featuring a mosquito with the tagline "It all started here".

Jurassic Park fans will know this is a reference to the mosquito that had been preserved in amber, which John Hammond used to create his giant reptiles.

The plot has been kept under wraps, but Trevorrow spoke to Collider teased that the film won't follow "traditional screenplay structure" and explained that the film will focus on "two sets of characters", Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum).

Production began back in February 2020 and was put on hiatus in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Filming eventually resumed in July in England and parts of the film were also shot in Malta. Production concluded in November last year.
