Jennifer Aniston has sent Friends fans into meltdown after revealing she is "working on something" with her co-stars from the show.

The actress - who recently broke Instagram after joining the platform - made the revelation while appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Monday.

Reminiscing on her days playing Rachel Green on the popular sitcom, Jennifer hinted that she wasn't quite done working with Matt LaBlanc, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer.

Unfortunately, she bluntly shut down the possibility of a reboot when quizzed by the chat show host and her guest, Charlie Puth.

But she went on to tease: "We would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is.

"So we're just trying. We're working on something."

Ellen went on to question whether a movie might be a possibility - and let's just say Jen didn't say no.

"I don't know yet!," Jen responded, "I don't want to lead people on."

We'll take that as a firm maybe.

While Jennifer didn't give anything else away in the interview, naturally, the hint was enough to send the internet into meltdown.

It comes after the six Friends stars recently reconvened for a group photograph on Jennifer's Instagram page - the first time they'd been seen together in full since the official end of the show in 2004.

Just one hour after she posted the image of herself with her former co-stars, it had already racked up over a quarter of a million 'likes', and is now on the way to 15 million.

"THE BREAK IS FINALLY OVER!!," one of Jen's followers excitedly gushed, making an iconic Friends reference, while another quoted Joey Tribbiani, as they wrote: "How you doin?"

Detailing the meet-up on Sirius XM Radio programme, she said: "Schwimmer was in town and we all happened to have a window of time so we all got together. We laughed so hard".

Friends debuted in 1994, and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
