Netflix has just announced a brand new true crime is landing on site this month, centring around Jeffrey Epstein.

The four-part series, named Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, will speak to "women around the world" about their accounts of abuse at the hands of the convicted paedophile, and his famous friends.

Landing on the platform on May 27th, the harrowing series will look back on the charges made against Epstein leading up to his arrest in July 2019.

It will also address his death one month later, in his jail cell.

The first official trailer starts by asking the question that was on everyone's lips in August last year.

"Did he kill himself [or] was he killed?"

It also shows just how "stunningly rich" and powerful the financier really was, intersecting shots of his huge mansions with pictures and footage of his private island, famously nicknamed: "the paedophile island".

Epstein was first investigated by police in Palm Beach, Florida, back in 2005, after the concerned parents of one 14-year-old girl accused him of sexually abusing her.

He pleaded guilty in 2008, and was convicted of procuring an underage girl for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute.

However, the documentary will also look at how he wielded power to secure a secret deal, avoiding a potential life sentence.

Plus, it highlights how he brazenly carried on abusing an "endless trail" of women in the years that followed, leading up to his arrest last year.

"Epstein came from humble beginnings yet managed to lie and manipulate his way to the top of the financial world. He eventually gained tremendous wealth and power while running an international sex trafficking ring," Netflix's official description reads.

"With their frightening firsthand accounts, Epstein's accusers are the leading voices in director Lisa Bryant's four-part docuseries Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.

"By revealing their emotional scars, some for the very first time, the sisterhood of survivors intend to stop predators - and the American justice system - from silencing the next generation."

This is going to be a must-watch.
