Australian comedian Chris Lilley has shared a video of his character Ja'mie King giving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a 'private dance performance', while on their tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Now, obviously we all wish this had actually happened, however the video was a fan made edit which stitched together scenes from Harry and Meghan's tour and a scene from Ja'mie: Private School Girl.

The video shows the fictional 17-year-old student doing an interpretive dance from the mockumentary series, before switching to footage of the couple watching a different performance at a school.

From the edit it looks as though Harry and Meghan are really enjoying Ja'mie's emotional performance.

Chris shared the video with the caption: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were treated to a private performance by Ja'mie King."

Fans of the comedian loved the post. One user wrote: "Is this the most amazing thing you've ever seen?"

Another added: "This should've been a real thing."

Worryingly, some users thought that the video was real, despite the obvious difference in rooms but fans soon made sure they understood that although it would've been amazing, it definitely didn't happen.

Fans of Ja'mie: Private School Girl will be happy to know that Chris is currently working on a new one-part series for Netflix.

The series was filmed on the Gold Coast of Australia between March and June this year and has also injected £3.5 million ($6.35 million) into the local economy.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in a statement: "I am delighted to have enticed Chris Lilley and producer Laura Waters to Queensland.

"The series will employ up to 250 Queensland cast and extras, plus around 100 Queensland crew.

"The project will also support two local screen practitioners, who will have the opportunity to work on the series to further develop their professional skills."
