Fans Baffled To See Fatboy From EastEnders In Princess Switch 2

The Princess Switch: Switched Again dropped on Netflix last month and fans of EastEnders noticed a very familiar face.

Ricky Norwood, the actor known for playing Fatboy in the BBC One soap opera, made a surprising appearance in the Netflix sequel, which stars Vanessa Hudgens in three different roles.

The Princess Switch came out in 2018 and became a festive season hit for Netflix. Vanessa plays Stacy DeNovo and Lady Margaret Delacourt of Montenaro, a pair of döppelgangers who switch lives on a whim after a chance meeting. In Switched Again, a third döppelganger is added into the mix, Lady Fiona.

Ricky plays Reggie, Lady Fiona's evil sidekick, who she enlists to help her replace the soon-to-be appointed Queen, Lady Margaret.

Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb made his debut on EastEnders in January 2010 and quickly became a fan favourite. Fatboy was one of the four main characters in the first series of E20, short-lived internet spin-off of EatEnders which was intended to entice younger viewers as well as writers behind the scenes. After E20 came to an end in 2011, Fatboy became part of the main EastEnders cast.

Fans took to Twitter to express their shock. One user wrote: "Pls I can't get over the fact Fatboy is in Princess Switch 2".

A third person said: "Imagine my surprise when I watched the Princess Switch sequel to see FATBOY".

One Twitter user replied to a Tweet asking if people remembered E20. "Okay but did anyone else notice Fatboy in The Princess Switch 2??"

Another elated fan said: "Today I'm living for the fact that Fatboy is in the new Princess Switch film".

One person added: "Omg! Fatboy from EastEnders is in that Vanessa Hudgens Princess Switch Netflix movie! My stan heart".

Ricky won the Best Newcomer award at the 2010 Inside Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the 2011 National Television Awards. He was temporarily suspended from EastEnders for two months in 2014 after a tape of improper misconduct leaked onto the internet. In October 2015 it was announced that Ricky would leave the soap and Fatboy was last seen on the Christmas Eve episode the same year. The character was killed off-screen.
