The supposedly haunted I'm A Celebrity castle has already had its share of reported ghostly sightings - and now viewers are convinced they heard the spooky cry of a baby during last night's Bushtucker Trial.

As the contestants descended the castle's stone steps, chatting and laughing, viewers took to Twitter to say that they could hear a 'baby crying', with some calling the sound 'freaky'.

Watch the moment here:

One fan tweeted: "The babycrying on @imacelebrity freaking me out."

While another wrote: "Definitely could hear ababycrying as they walk down the stairs heading to the trial tonight.."

"Anyone else hear the baby cry when the celebrities was walking to the trail well freaky for it was my babycrying@imacelebrity#imacelebrity" asked a third.

Over to the reader: can you hear the infant wailing?

Gwrych Castle, located in Wales, has a long history of paranormal activity. In fact, the castle's website boasts that "real life ghost encounters by visitors to Gwrych Castle are commonplace".

It's been claimed that the spirit of a servant girl roams the grounds. She is said to have died after falling off a horse there.

Meanwhile, staff working on location at the reality show claimed to have witnessed 'shadowy figures' and 'horrifying noises' coming from the crumbling building after nightfall, according to The Sun.

Built between 1810 and 1822, the Grade II-listed castle has gone on to become an accidental star of the show - but prior to its transformation for the reality series, the building suffered years of neglect.

Wales Online report that the castle was "left to rot on a hillside in Conwy" for "three decades", and that its "most recent inhabitants had been hordes of squatters who'd trashed the place".

What a history! We're not sure we'd be able to sleep easy inside the castle walls.
