James Haskell's Wife Defends His 'Aggy' Behaviour In The 'I'm A Celeb' Jungle

I'm A Celebrity contestant and rugby star James Haskell has come under fire from viewers for grumpy behaviour - snapping at fellow campmates, calling the camp a 'circus of stupidity', and generally being a bit moody.

But the campmate's wife, fitness influencer Chloe Madeley, has now rushed to her husband's defence with an alternative explanation for his behaviour - and it's all too relatable.

Her argument? He was just hangry. We've all been there, tbh.

Chloe took to her Instagram Stories to make her case, suggesting that all the burly rugby player needed to improve was a decent meal.

"Looking at this face breaks my heart," she wrote. "Why's he so aggy? Because he's starving. Hungry = angry... hence hangry."

She went into more detail in a second post, responding to a follower, who had asked her: "James seems to be getting snappy, is this due to lack of food?? (And missing you)."

Chloe wrote back, breaking down the sportsman's usual calorie count: "The por guy is in a right old grump.

"His BMR (basic metabolic rate) is around 2500 cals his TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is around 4000 cals so to go down to 800 maybe 1200 with stars, is clearly taking its toll on him."

Originally thought to be a major contender to scoop the title of Jungle King, James' popularity quickly dipped due to his short temper.

The Dingo Dollar Challenge was especially tense, with James criticising fellow contestant Kate Garraway's call for extra time.

"Kate, there's nothing to think about," he grumbled.

"I don't understand what the stress is, it's simple A, stick your hand up in the air or B stick your hand up in the air, majority wins, I don't get it."

He ranted on: "I can't do it, I'm too intelligent and too switched on, just put your hands right up, let someone count them, right the majority win, shut up and lets move on."

Wow. A handful of crispy bugs doesn't cut it. This guy needs a fry up.
