Last week, it was reported that Netflix had cancelled Ian Somerhalder's vampire horror series, V Wars after just one season.
But now, the actor, 41, has taken to his social media to reveal it's not the end for the show, or his character Dr Luther Swann.

Posting on Instagram, Ian shared a clip from his airstream trailer where he was busy doing some late night writing.
Speaking about the recent Netflix news, as well as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, he said: "Hey everyone, wow, the world's a very different place since the last time I spoke to you, huh?
"Listen, I am acutely aware that there are far more pressing things to talk about in our world right now, our health and safety and the future of our planet. Hence the quarantine beard and this mop on my head.
"I just wanna thank you for all the incredible messages I've been getting, incredible amounts of incredible messages, asking me if this is the end of the road for Dr Swann and V Wars.
"No, no it's not the end of the road for Dr Swann or V Wars. There are a lot of great stories to tell and I'm going to tell them.
"Just between you and me, you all came out in mass to see this show. This is a hit show, you came out in mass. I don't mean 10 or 20 million of you, I mean tens of millions of you.
"So obviously, we have some stuff to work out, but once I have some information you'll be the first to know. I'm so grateful for you.
"My producing partner and I are grateful for you. We're also grateful to Netflix for giving us season one, launching season one. And obviously the man, Jonathan Maberry who created this entire world. There's so much to tell you, so much to see and create out of this amazing story."
Netflix aired the first season of V Wars in December 2019, but has sadly decided not to renew.
If you're unfamiliar with the show, the sci-fi horror is based on the graphic comic series by Jonathan Maberry and follows scientist Dr Luther Swann and his best friend Michael Fayne as they face the evolving crisis of a deadly outbreak.
The disease transforms Michael into a blood-sucking vampire and Dr Swann is set in a race against time to get to the bottom of the outbreak.
While it might be a little while before V Wars returns to our lives, we're just relieved it *is* coming back in some form.
For now, we're keeping an eye on Ian Somerhalder's Instagram for more details as they come...
