As for clues about the plot, we're guessing there might be some, erm, songbird and snakes involved?

When news of the book was first announced in June, Suzanne Collins, the creator of the multi-million pound novel, said the book would go back to the years following the failed rebellion in Panem, called the 'Dark Days'.

"With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival, she said in a statement.

"The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days - as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet - provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity."

The book will be published by Scholastic Trade and is set for release on 19th May 2020.

President Ellie Berger said in a statement: "Suzanne Collins is a master at combining brilliant storytelling, superb world building, breathtaking suspense, and social commentary.

"We are absolutely thrilled - as both readers and publishers - to introduce the devoted fans of the series and a new audience to an entirely new perspective on this modern classic."

What's more, there's going to be a film in the works too.

Lionsgate, who distributed all four other films, confirmed that there will be a movie in a recent statement to The Associated Press.

"We've been communicating with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie," they said.

The movie will follow the first in the franchise The Hunger Games, released in May 2012, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, released in November 2013, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I, released in November 2014 and the latest The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part II, which hit cinemas in November 2015.

Mockingjay Part II ended with Katniss marry Peeta and move into a new future uncontrolled by the capital, following the massive war.
