One of the films we have on our 'must-see' list once cinemas are open again is House of Gucci.
The crime drama will star Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani alongside Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci.
The Ridley Scott film is currently shooting in Italy, and it will tell the real-life story of how Patricia plotted an assassination against her ex-husband Maurizio, the former head of Gucci.
Viewers who loved The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story should definitely check it out when it's released in November this year.

Who is starring in it?
The film has an all-star cast led by A Star is Born lead Lady Gaga and Adam Driver. Another Italian American actor who is set to appear is movie legend Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci (Maurizio's father and Guccio Gucci's son).
Lady Gaga isn't the only musician who is part of the main cast, the Rain on Me singer will also be joined by Jared Leto - who is fronting a Gucci campaign IRL - as Maurizio's brother Paolo.

Jeremy Irons will play another Gucci brother, Rodolfo. The cast is rounded out by Jack Huston, Reeve Carney and Camille Cottin.
At one point during development, Penelope Cruz and Margot Robbie were in the running to play Gaga's Patrizia whilst Leonardo DiCaprio was in line to play Maurizio.

Ridley Scott, the man behind Blade Runner, Alien and Gladiator will take the reigns. In recent years, Ridley has seemingly shifted from sci-fi to crime dramas, with 2007's American Gangster and 2017's All the Money in the World.
Maybe he can direct the long-awaited sequel to the Telephone video with Lady Gaga and Beyonce afterwards?
Is it based on a true story?

Yes. The film is loosely based on the real life story of Maurizio's assassination and explores the role Patrizia played in it. The screenplay is based on a book called House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.
Similarly, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was also based on a book titled Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History.
Who is Patrizia Reggiani?
Born on 2nd December 1948 in Northern Italy, Patrizia is best known for being the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci.

During the 1980s, while she was married to Maurizio Gucci, she was a wealthy Italian socialite and high fashion personality.
On 27 March 1995, her ex-husband was shot and killed by a hitman hired by Patrizia on the steps outside his office as he arrived to work.
On 31 January 1997, Patrizia Reggiani was arrested, and in 1998 she was convicted of arranging the killing of her husband, Maurizio Gucci, and sentenced to 29 years in prison. This was later reduced to 26 years.
She was released in October 2016 after serving 18 years after her sentence was cut short for good behaviour.
When can we see it?
House of Gucci is set to be released 24th November 2021 in the US and two days later in the UK. It is currently filming around Rome and Lake Como in Italy.
