Apple TV+ is about to drop brand new series Home Before Dark and it sounds like the new Nancy Drew.

The TV show, which is set to land on the streaming platform on April 3rd, follows little girl Hilde (Brooklynn Prince) who is a wannabe journalist.

The youngster from Brooklyn and her family, end up moving back to where her father lived as a child, a small lakeside town, Erie Harbor. And judging by the trailer all she wants to do is solve mysteries and go wherever the stories are even if that means she visits murder scenes, despite still being in primary school.

Whilst on the hunt for stories, she discovers a cold case about a boy named Richie - the then mayor of the town's son - who was taken. It's an unsolved case that everyone - including her own father - have tried to forget. But why?

The trailer reveals that her dad, who was just a child himself at the time, was there when Richie was 'taken right in front of him'. So what will she uncover?

You can see why we're feeling Nancy Drew vibes since it's about another youngster who can't help but solve mysteries.

What's even more interesting about this show though, is that the story is inspired by the real-life reporting of Hilde Lysiak from Pennsylvania, who started her own newspaper aged eight - she's hit the headlines in the US several times.

We love it when TV shows and films are based on true life. This real life Hilde is such an inspiration, especially if she's as sassy as she is portrayed in the series.

The ten-part show based on a story she reported on will air its first three episodes next Friday, followed by single drops every Friday following.

It's bound to be gripping too, because the second series - of what Apple described as a"super bingeable" drama - has already been confirmed. It was in fact renewed three months before it even aired - so we're expecting big things.

Self-isolating doesn't seem so bad when we've got shows like this upcoming.
