In the first season, the East High Wildcats pulled off a spectacular play inspired by the first High School Musical film. Season two will pick-up where we last saw Richard, Nina, E.J., Gina and the rest of the gang.
Season two will see the East High Wildcats preparing to perform Beauty and the Beast as their spring musical and face off against rival school North High to win a prestigious and cutthroat student theatre competition.
In addition to series regulars including 'Drivers Licence' singer Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Joe Serafini, Mark St. Cyr and Kate Reinders, there are a bunch of exciting new characters joining for season two.

Dancing with the Stars professional Derek Hough will join the show as a recurring guest star. He will play Zach, the new drama teacher at East High's rival high school who returns to Salt Lake after a very successful acting career in New York City.
There will also be a mini Andi Mack reunion with Asher Angel - who starred alongside Sofia Wylie in the Disney Chanel show - making a guest appearance as Jack, who is described as "a charming, smooth-talking student with wanderlust".

This season will also feature brand-new solo songs written by the series' stars Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett.
Created and executive produced by Tim Federle, the show's first season is available to stream on Disney+ right now and has earned a GLAAD Media award.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premieres on Disney+ on Friday 14th May. New episodes will be released every Friday.
