Ever since we first heard about the She's All That remake - titled He's All That - we've been waiting at the edge of our seats for Netflix to tell us the release date.

Our wishes have been granted because the streamer has announced that the teen comedy, starring TikToker Addison Rae, will drop on 27th August 2021.

The cast including Addison, Tanner Buchanan, Madison Pettis, Peyton Meyer, Myra Molloy and Rachael Leigh Cook took to the Instagram to announce the news in a cute, socially distanced video.

You can watch it below:

The cast trade a sheet paper with each actor adding a new word, eventually leading to the reveal of the release date and the retro, 90s-tastic logo.

The remake will be a gender-swapped reinterpretation of the original movie, with Obsessed singer Addison Rae starring opposite Cobra Kai's Tanner Buchanan and original star Rachel Leigh Cook who will play a brand new character.

Addison's character Padgett Sawyer is inspired by Freddie Prinze Jr.'s Zackary Siler role. The new spin will be told from a teenage girl's point of view, where an influencer (Addison) accepts a challenge to turn the school's biggest loser (Tanner) into prom king.

Mark Waters, the director behind arguably the best teen comedy ever Mean Girls and the Freaky Friday remake starring Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray, is at the helm of He's All That.

The screenwriter behind She's All That has written the remake, and the film's original producers, Jennifer Gigbot and Andrew Panay, have also returned.

in September last year, Addison shared the news of her casting to her fans on Instagram, writing: "AHHHHH!!! My dreams are coming true!!!

"I'm so excited to finally share the news that i am getting the opportunity to make my acting debut in HE'S ALL THAT which is a remake of one of my all time favoruite movies, SHE'S ALL THAT.

"I'm so grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me and none of it would have ever happened without every single one of you."

Netflix has not released a trailer yet but we'll let you know as soon as it drops!
