Fans of horror series The Haunting of Hill House are in for a treat with its upcoming second outing, The Haunting of Bly Manor.

The show's official Twitter account teased the second series last week, with a 'Help Wanted' poster asking for a live-in nanny for two "perfectly splendid children".

And eagle-eyed viewers picked up on the ad's real phone number which, when called, plays a chilling message.

When one brave fan of the series dared to call the number on the fictional advert, he was in for a shock.

"I guess I'll be seeing you in five days," user @thediaryofjacob captioned the interaction.

Watch it in full here:

The creepy message begins: "Hi, you've reached the Wingrave family at Bly Manor. We're not here right now.

"If you're calling about the open nanny position, interviews will be conducted by our Uncle Henry in five days. It'll be perfectly splendid. We can't wait to meet you."

Young Flora Wingrave (Amelie Smith), the voice at the end of the call and one of the two 'splendid' children, can then be heard humming in the background before the call cuts out.

Set in a country house in Essex, The Haunting of Bly Manor centres around a couple of children who need an au pair.

When their new governess, Dani, arrives at Bly Manor, she begins to notice strange goings-on inside the house, which it appears no one else can see.

And now we have a trailer to whet our appetites too.

It's not the first time fans have been teased to a preview of the upcoming series.

Recent photos teased a new story, new family and a new house, complete with images of creepy attics and haunted hallways, with children Flora and Miles (played by Ben Ainsworth) at the heart of the mystery at Bly Manor.

Thought to be based on Henry James's 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw, it's likely this offering will be just as creepy as the last.

And we're in for a treat with lots of the Hill House cast returning too. Victoria Pedretti, who played Nell, will play the role of governess Dani this time, while Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Kate Siegel will also be back.

Due to land on Netflix this autumn, first season The Haunting of Hill House is available to watch now on the streaming service.
