If you like to celebrate Halloween with a scary movie you're in luck, because Netflix is dropping some original films in time for 31st October intended to scare.

The entertainment provider has put out a trailer on YouTube that hints at five brand new films: In the Shadow of the Moon, Eli, Fractured, In the Tall Grass and Rattlesnake.

Admittedly, the trailer is slightly on the cheesy side, but it was still enough to creep us out.

So what are these nail-biting new films all about?

In the Shadow of the Moon

A Philadelphia detective makes it his mission to hunt down a female serial killer who resurfaces every nine years.

As he does, he slowly begins to unravel in this Netflix original Sci-Fi thriller.

In The Shadow of the Moon lands on September 27th and will air globally.

In The Tall Grass

A pregnant woman and her brother wade into a vast field of grass after hearing a cry for help, only to find there is no way out in this original.

Admittedly, it doesn't sound thrilling, but it is based on a novella written by Stephen King and son Joe Hill, so that surely gives it must-watch status.

In The Tall Grass drops on 4th October and will air globally.

Fractured

After pulling over on a car journey home, Joanna and Ray Monroe's daughter Peri ends up hurt in an accident.

They rush her to a nearby emergency room, but Peri and Joanna end up missing, with no record of them ever being at the hospital.

Ray is left suspicious of the strange hospital staff and desperate to bring his family home.

Fractured will land on Netflix on October 11th and will air globally.

Eli

Eli is gravely ill, but a doctor has promised him experimental medical treatments that will supposedly help him.

He is soon plagued by nightmarish experiences that make him question his doctor's motives.

This Netflix Original stars Sadie Sink, Lili Taylor & Kelly Reilly.

Eli will be ready to watch on Netflix on October 18th and will air globally.

Rattlesnake

Single Mum Katrina is ready to start her life over with daughter Clara, but en route to their new home, the car breaks down.

When she goes to change the tyre, Clara wanders off and ends up being bitten by a rattlesnake.

The pair accept help from a stranger, which saves Clara's life, but in return asks for her to commit an unthinkable act as payment.

Rattlesnake lands on Netflix on October 25th and will air globally.

In the US, these films along with other cult classics will be available under the special Netflix and Chills category and we're hoping the UK and Northern Ireland will follow suit so we can scare ourselves silly in Halloween week.

It is time for a scare fest.
