Grey's Anatomy fans nearly had to go through the pain of losing April Kepner at the end of season 14 and now fans are convinced that they could be about to lose another major character in season 15.
James Pickens Jr's character, Richard Webber, has been a staple role at the hospital ever since season one from his role as Chief of Surgery to working as a general surgeon and he has been involved in some controversial storylines during his time on the drama.
First, Richard had an affair with Meredith's mother, producing Maggie the love child, before losing his wife Adele to a heart attack.
After Adele's death, Richard went on to marry Catherine and he hasn't been involved in too much drama ever since.
Now, viewers are convinced that since Richard and Catherine found love, Richard could be the next to go, because who likes a happy ever after anyway?
One Reddit user began speculation that the death of either Richard or Miranda Bailey would make sense, explaining: "Bailey's death would affect both [Grey's Anatomy and Station 19], while Richard hasn't had any particularly interesting storylines lately."
James definitely plays more of a low-key character in the series these days, however it looks like he doesn't plan on giving up the role anytime soon.
In 2016 he told Previously TV: "It's been such a blast and such a blessing to be part of something that's become iconic. You can't help looking forward to coming in every day. The challenge is more for the writers to keep it fresh by bringing in new characters or taking a plot twist or taking a character that had a relationship here and then aligning him with somebody else.
"That's what makes good TV now and keeps the fans coming back and watching, so to be a part of that - I enjoy coming back every day for that, and I enjoy the adventures, and now this journey is going to continue."
