We're five weeks into this year's series of The Great British Bake Off, and as we're getting to know and love our contestants more with each week, it makes seeing them go all the harder.

And telly viewers really felt it with last night's elimination, where Helena Garcia and Michelle Eva-Fecci were booted out of the tent in a shock double dumping.

On Tuesday night (24th), gothic queen and Welsh mother saw their time in tent come to the end, despite Helena, 40, winning the technical challenge by making 18 perfect beignets soufflés and Michelle, 35, completing a run of five pretty successful weeks.

What's more, both contestants showstoppers weren't awful, even receiving some nice comments from both Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

Some even suggested Helena should have been in talks to get Star Baker.

Naturally, people were up in arms at the injustice at the judges decision, with some even calling it a 'fix'.

"I'm going to need more of an explanation from #GBBO as to why Michelle and Helena went home! I am not satisfied! #bakeoff," wrote one disgruntled viewer.

"Total disgrace at Helena leaving bake off. Fix!! #GBBO2019," vented another.

"Lol Helena gone and Rosie and Priya still there. It's been a good few years Bake Off but I'm going... what even is that? No way Helena should be gone, she should've been up there in the chat for Star Baker," suggested another.

"How has helena gone DESPITE the fact she won the technical and is an all round goth vampire queen ????," echoed a fourth.

And it isn't the first time viewers have felt injustice in the tent.

Just last week, they were up in arms about Phil Thorne's exit from the show on Dairy Week. The 56-year-old was booted off despite Priya O'Shea's disastrous technical and Michael Chakraverty's cake breaking in half.

What's going on judges?!
