The Great British Bake Off is bringing us a very special Christmas present this year, bringing back some of our favourite contestants for a one-off festive extravaganza.

Like last year, the Channel 4 show will be inviting some of the true Bake Off OG's back into the infamous tent to try their luck a second time around.

This year, 2017's Tom and Yan will be making appearances, alongside 2018's Briony and - our personal fave - Terry.

There will also be some other popular Bake Off amateurs in the tent, who are yet to be revealed.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be giving them all a festive challenge and then assess them completely separately from their previous performances.

At the end, one of the baking favourites will be handed the Christmas title and be in with a chance to walk away victorious after all.

It's the ultimate opportunity for one of this talented bunch to seek redemption... and what better time than Christmas?!

This isn't the only Bake Off special over the Crimbo period, as for New Years, the show is doing a collaboration with none other than the Derry Girls, who will be stepping into the tent too, for one day only.

Yep, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn, and Siobhan McSweeney are set to come face-to-face with the judges and Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig in the hope of bagging a famous Paul Hollywood handshake and maybe even the title of star baker.

Announcing the news on social media this week, Nicola Coughlan, who plays Claire on the show, said: "Got some exciting news I can finally share with you - on New Year's Day, you can sit down in front of your telly and watch us Derry Girls do Bake Off!

"Tune in on New Year's Day to see if we burn down the tent or kill anybody."

Now that would be quite the way to welcome in the New Year...
