So, it's official, The Great British Bake Off is over for another year.

After a tense finale, another winner has been crowned, and all we can do is wait until 2020 for more Paul Hollywood handshakes, soufflé disasters, jaw dropping technicals and rumoured in-tent-romances.

But if you were watching this year's series thinking you could handle the heat, then good news: because you can apply to be in the eleventh series of Bake Off right now.

Yep, as it was announced at the end of last night's finale, applications are already open for the next series of the hit Channel 4 show.

To apply, simply click here and you'll be asked a series of questions where you'll have to prove you fit the bill.

Be warned. The application process doesn't look like it's going to be a speedy one.

If producers like what they see, you'll likely be called in for a telephone interview, and then after that - if previous years are anything to go by - the chosen few will be called to London to showcase some of their bakes.

It doesn't stop there though, as former contestants have revealed they then faced a technical challenge IRL, where they were filmed and then analysed by producers before the final batch of stars are eventually chosen.

Intense, but probably not as bad as the glares from Prue Leith and Paul if you make it any further...

It's a long process, sure. But imagine holding that Bake Off trophy at the end.

Applications close on Sunday 5th January 2020, meaning you still have plenty of time to finesse yours.

The makers of Bake Off, Love Productions, advise: "When selecting applicants for the Programme Love Productions will, amongst other factors take into account: skill, enthusiasm, drive and love of baking.

"Love Productions is looking for lively characters that are comfortable being filmed.

"Love Productions will be looking for a mix of contestants to reflect the range in age, location, gender and diversity of amateur bakers in Britain."

You have 67 days to apply for the next series. Time to perfect those bakes!
