Well, Bake Off does have a naughty side…

One of the reasons why we all love The Great British Bake Off is, of course, the unrelenting filthiness.

Yep, the usually genteel Channel 4 show about serving up cakes and other sweet treats is made all the more fun with the never-ending double entendres, with soggy bottoms, rising buns and phallic-shaped objects galore.

But one former Bake Off contestant decided to ramp up the sauciness with a slightly more explicit badge that he tried to take into the tent.

Bake Off 2019 winner David Atherton revealed the behind-the-scenes titbit on Twitter, where he told his 27,000 followers that he tried to wear a NSFW badge onto set, but the pin was spotted by producers and quickly removed.

However, he still managed to get a cheeky snap, taken by fellow contestant Michael Chakraverty, that he shared online, where he posed alongside Michelle Evans-Fecci.

"Just remembering the time I tried to get away with wearing this badge on Bake Off," David wrote. "I got it into the tent, but then it was spotted."

For someone briefly passing, the yellow badge looks mostly harmless. However, upon closer inspection, it reads: 'I love anal' - which is not very suitable for pre-watershed television.

However, fans loved David's cheeky attempt to wear the badge on set, with the picture quickly amassing over 35,000 likes on social media.

David's badge was a step too far even for Bake Off (

"I know soggy bottom's are generally frowned upon in the tent but this is ridiculous," joked one fan.

"This is fantastic!" a second person said.

A third added: "Surely a message everybody can get behind?"

David made Bake Off history when he was in the tent, being the first ever winner to take the whole competition without having won the coveted 'Star Baker' nod.

Bake Off will be back on our screens later in the year, with a whole new set of contestants we're bound to all be cheering for.

Wonder if anyone will be as naughty as David?
