Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway has praised Prince Harry, for opening up and "changing the conversation" around mental health.

Discussing Harry's series of interviews with Oprah Winfrey - on his new AppleTV+ show, The Me You Can't See, Kate praised Harry for opening up about the mental health impact of his mother, Princess Diana's death.

"He and William actually both talk about their memory of her death and leading up to her death, Prince Harry talks about how he can remember her crying with the seatbelt on in the car as she's chased by people," said Kate.

"In recent weeks we've talked about William's relationship with the media and Harry's relationship with the media but you can really see from both these comments that came out yesterday, how that's gone into their minds and their psyche in a way that we don't understand."

Meanwhile, Dr Amir Khan added: "I think we've got to applaud Harry for talking about his mental health. It's not about the timing it's about the fact he's encouraging other people to do the same as well."

The Apple TV show was broadcast yesterday, and in a series of candid interviews, Harry spoke about his struggles and his mental health battle.

He opened up about the impact of his mother's death, explaining he is still haunted by "the sound of the horse's hooves going along The Mall" at his mother's funeral.

Speaking about his and Meghan's experience in the royal family, Harry added: "I thought my family would help, but every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, just got met with total silence, total neglect. We spent four years trying to make it work.

"We did everything that we possibly could to stay there and carry on doing the role and doing the job. But Meghan was struggling."

Harry also spoke about his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, adding: "My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, 'Well, it was like that for me so it's going to be like that for you'.

"That doesn't make sense. Just because you suffered, that doesn't mean your kids have to suffer. In fact, quite the opposite. If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, you can make it right for your kids."

Harry's interviews with Oprah were produced by Apple TV+, which is available on the Apple TV app. It is priced at £4.99 per month, but you can also snap up a seven-day free trial.
