​People Are Calling 'Girl On The Third Floor' Netflix's Most 'Disturbing Horror To Date’

Just when people thought they'd seen it all, they watched Girl On The Third Floor on Netflix and now don't even know what they've just witnessed.

One went as far as to say it was the most disturbing movie they'd seen ever. That's quite the claim.

She said: "'The Girl On The Third Floor' has now become the most disturbing film I've ever watched".

Another echoed her sentiment: "The girl on the third floor was probably the weirdest scary thriller I've ever seen... like wtf".

A third added: "Watch Girl on the Third Floor on netflix if you want to get mentally f**ked [sic] on a whole other level".

Another commented: "Did y'all watch The girl on the third floor. That sh*t is horrifying".

But why is it this film, recently added to Netflix but that had its cinematic debut last year that's sending horror fans over the edge?

There are several reasons. The first being, according to Bloody Disgusting, that the movie is based on a real life house in Frankfort, Illinois, where they shot the film - one that has a history of paranormal sightings.

This inspired the director, Travis Stevens to weave in local lore and the house itself into the script.

Plus, at the time of filming, the house was also being renovated, like it is in the movie.

Several deaths have reportedly occurred there - in the third floor bedroom specifically (hence the title) - and people say it is now haunted by two young girls. One supposedly died from illness and the other was brutally murdered.

When anything is based on real life, it's always scarier.

But while that's creepy, there's also a highly disgusting aspect to this film.

In the movie, Don Koch (Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks) moves into the house with his pregnant wife Liz Koch (Trieste Kelly Dunn) and is fixing it up as a chance to make up for his many mistakes.

But as time passes, he learns the house used to be a brothel. And, grossly, it seems to seep milky white liquid from the pipes, which saw viewers clocking exactly just what that liquid might be. Vom.

One said: "We watched The Girl On The Third Floor last night & I just canny stop thinking about how much semen was involved in the film". Nice.

Not sure if it's one for us but, if it's on Netflix now ready to stream if you fancy it.
