Some Great British Bake Off fans were left fuming on Tuesday night, branding the show a 'fix' when Rahul was crowned winner after receiving an extra 15 minutes to complete his showstopper challenge.
The 30-year-old beat off stiff competition from Kim-Joy and Ruby to win the coveted prize, but some believe he got preferential treatment by receiving extra time.
During the final challenge, Rahul's glass bowl smashed as a result of the heat, prompting the judges to give him an extra 15 minutes to allow him to clean up the mess.
However, some viewers weren't happy with the extra time he received, claiming he may have even smashed the bowl on purpose.
"Of course Rahul won, he got extra time both in the challenge and air time #GBBOFinal," one viewer fumed.
No way Rahul should win this after getting an extra 15 minutes having broken the glass himself... #GBBO #GBBOFinal

Another added: "An extra 15 mins for Rahul. What a joke. Nobody else in earlier episodes got extra time when things went wrong. Disgraceful [sic]."
How can they not restart Rahul's time? He clearly has an unfair advantage now #GBBOFinal

"Right I'm fuming already why does Rahul get an extra 15 mins? When in the history of bake off amidst disaster has anyone got extra time #favouritism #BakeOff," another raged.
Nope. No. I'm not having that. No. #GBBO

However, other viewers were a bit more sympathetic to the baker's plight, with one fan defending: "People are so insanely harsh on Rahul. It wasn't his fault the glass smashed. It's not him who chooses if he stays in the competition each week. Lay off a little bit and realise he's a very talented baker."
After the challenge, Rahul said: "When the glass measuring jug shattered I got such a shock because it came out of nowhere.
"It broke into a thousand pieces and went in everything so it all had to be chucked. It almost broke me and I really thought that was it for me. Fortunately I was able to prove that I could finish it.
"Sandi kissed me on the forehead and that helped calm me down."
