Five Guys A Week - Channel 4's new dating show set to hook the masses with the same effect as Love Is Blind - debuted last night and already people are saying it's 'cringe' but 'addictive'.

The off the wall format sees one woman invite five men into her home as live-in boyfriends. All at the same time.

The potential suitors all have the opportunity to win the affections of the woman, battling their competition, who are literally living right under their feet.

The series - called an "antidote to traditional dating shows" - will see the men will go everywhere with their host en-masse, from work to night's out with friends and even dinners with the parents.

FGAW (for short) debuted last night as viewers were introduced to 34-year-old Amy, a marketing consultant from St. Albans, who's recently divorced.

The episode saw Amy invite surfer dude Trystan, singer-songwriter Scott, stuntman Michael, fraud investigator Christian and government consultant Glenn into her home.

What ensued was a horror show of showboating and c*ck-blocking - with viewers unable to avert their eyes.

Some standout moments included 'geezer' Christian telling Amy "you've got to put yourself in the shop window"; Amy's mum asking the guys if they were good in bed (and revealing "my husband used to like spanking me"); and Amy snogging Scott in the a nightclub in front of all the other lads.

It really is the sort of telly you have to watch from behind your hands...

People appear to be obsessed from the outset with the "cringey but in the best way" dating show already, judging by the online reaction.

"Five guys a week on Channel 4 right now is f*ckin WILD," wrote one viewer on Twitter.

"This Five Guys A Week thing is the worst thing I've ever watched but I can't stop," raved another, adding: "It's like The Office but dating. Cringing beyond belief"

"Five guys a week is so cringe and awkward, but such a good watch at the same time. #fiveguysaweek," agreed a third.

"Five guys a week has me sat here watching with one eye open and one eye closed, sooooo cringe but sooooo obsessed," said a fourth.
