*This article contains major spoilers for 'Liar' Series 1*
When ITV's Liar was first released in 2017, we were completely hooked. Now, with Series 2 just around the corner, ITV has released a set of first-look images.
As fans will know, the first instalment of the drama focussed on teacher Laura Nielson (Joanne Froggatt) who was doing everything in her power to prove she had been raped by surgeon, Andrew Earlham (Ioan Gruffudd).
Andrew was charming, well-respected in the community and had a son at Laura's school - but behind the facade, he had drugged, assaulted and raped at least 17 women.

Laura, devastated by her ordeal and determined Andrew would face justice, is hell bent on exposing his crimes and ends up taking matters into her own hands.
It all comes to a head at the end of Series 1 when Andrew is found dead in marshland. Of course, Laura has motive for the murder - but she's adamant she didn't kill the surgeon.
In a teaser clip release by ITV, Laura can be heard yelling: "There's a long list of people who had reason to kill him. I did not murder Andrew Earlham."

And now, ITV has released a set of brand new images, teasing us even *more* about the return of the show.
With shots of Laura being interviewed by both DS Rory Maxwell (Danny Webb) and DI Karen Renton (Katherine Kelly) as well as the teacher being presented with an evidence bag, it seems the police are definitely viewing Laura as a person of interest.
It's not clear what's inside the evidence bag, but Laura looks pretty confused in the promo image.

There's also a very spooky shot of Andrew, Laura and DI Renton as well as a photo of the wider cast, which also confirms many characters from Series 1 are returning.
Zoe Tapper returns as Katy Sutcliffe, Laura's best mate who was having an affair with Laura's former long-term boyfriend, Tom.
Katy's husband Liam will also feature in Series 2, played by Richie Campbell.
In the first series, Laura uncovered video recordings Andrew made of each of his victims, including DI Vanessa Harmon - who was also assaulted by the surgeon - and handed over the evidence to the police.

Towards the end of the season, Andrew's son, Luke, realises the truth about his dad and exactly what he's capable of.
Luke (Jamie Flatters) will return in Series 2 and can be seen standing alone in one of the teaser shots.
Showrunners Harry and Jack Williams confirmed the second series will be a classic whodunit, exploring a list of suspects. Could it be Laura? Luke? Another of Andrew's several victims? What about DI Vanessa Harmon?
