As fans wait for the highly anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things to drop, Netflix has started to tease a brand new movie series that is sure to whet their appetites for spooky, retro-inspired adventures.

Fear Street is an upcoming movie trilogy and each of the three films will be available to stream over three consecutive weeks. All three films are based on Goosebumps author R.L. Stine's best selling horror series of the same name.

Stranger Things stars Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke will also star in the hotly-anticipated horror series.

The release strategy will keep viewers at the edge of their seats for three weeks. Part One - 1994 premieres 2nd July, Part Two - 1978 lands on 9th July and finally Part 3 - 1666 will be available from 16th July.

The films will explore the sinister history of a fictional town called Shadyside, which has a scary history dating 300 years. Luckily viewers won't have to wait years to delve into Shadyside like they would with a cinematic trilogy because all the films will be released in less than a month.

Earlier this month Netflix released a brand new teaser for the upcoming season of Stranger Things and it looks frightening.

The trailer introduces fans to the Rainbow Room where Eleven, and 10 other gifted children, are being kept.

We see the children in cold and empty room that resembles a prison where the youngsters ominously play games like chess and one holds an eight bowl with the message "signs point to yes" written inside.

Some of the stars have started to tease the upcoming season, included Gaten Matarazzo who said season 4 will be the scariest yet - and judging by the first teaser, we believe him.

Fear Street: Part One - 1994 premieres 2nd July 2021. Stranger Things season 4 will drop later this year.
