Fantastic Beasts fans, we finally have a reason to get excited - production for the third instalment is officially set to start in spring 2020.

Warner Bros confirmed the news about the Harry Potter spin-off after several production delays earlier this year.

While there's still a while until be see the film (in April, the flick was given a 12th November 2021 release date) this means we might start getting some exciting set shots and more info teased. Eek!

There's also some exciting news about the setting. As with the previous two films, Fantastic Beasts 3 will be set in an entirely new country - and in fact a different wizarding world altogether.

According to Deadline, this time Newt and co will be heading to sunny Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The city is home to new wonder of the world, Christ the Redeemer, the world-famous Copacabana beach, sprawling favelas and annual Rio carnival - no doubt making it an amazing setting for all of the wizarding action.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them took place in New York while The Crimes of Grindelwald took place in Paris.

Eddie Redmayne will be reprising his role as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Ezra Miller as Aurelius Dumbledore.

Last October, it was confirmed Johnny Depp, who played Gellert Grindelwald, would be reprising his role, while Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) and Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) will also be returning.

Deadline also revealed that comedian and actor Jessica Williams, who played a small role as Professor Eulalie 'Lally' Hicks in The Crimes of Grindelwald, will have a more substantial role this time around.

Professor Eulalie was a teacher Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the American equivalent of Hogwarts.

Replying to a fan before the release of the second film, writer J.K. Rowling said of Jessica's character: "You only see a HINT of Lally in Fantastic Beasts 2. Her true glory is revealed in FB3."

The Fantastic Beasts franchise is a spin-off and prequel to Harry Potter, produced and written by J. K. Rowling.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was the eighth highest-grossing film of 2016, taking $814 (£631) million worldwide, while Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was the tenth highest-grossing of 2018, taking $653 (£507) million.

There's no word on the title of the third film as of yet. Nevertheless, we can't WAIT.
