Last night, the nation shed a tear as Love Island's Tommy Fury, 20, and Molly-Mae Hague, 19, became official and even told each other that they were falling in love.

But while the news was met with delight by most of the Islanders, surfer Lucie Donlan (who has recently admitted to having feelings for Tommy) broke down in tears.

Going to the bathroom to have a cry by herself, Lucie was followed in by the man who is fast becoming one of our favourite Islanders - 24-year-old model Jordan Hames.

Jordan comforted Lucie with a big hug, saying he understood and that he knew it wasn't "nice to see".

While some fans weren't impressed by Lucie's tears, saying she was stealing the moment from Molly-Mae and Tommy, and that she should be happy for them, others leapt to Lucie's defence, pointing out that she was discreet when she cried, and that it's only natural to feel upset when someone you like gets a new girlfriend.

One fan posted on Twitter: "Unpopular opinion but Lucie isn't a snake for crying about Tommy and Molly becoming official. She obviously likes him, and the girl isn't made of stone. Let her cry lmao."

While another said: "Everyone slating Lucie because she was crying over tommy she was happy for him and cried in private when provoked by Jordan making sure she was ok, I don't rate her as a person but she is being genuine ???".

Tonight, we'll see another couple dumped from the island, which viewers are predicting will be Lucie and Georgie as Amy has reportedly left of her own volition. There are also two new bombshells set to enter the villa - so just as we'd hoped, the drama is never-ending this series.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
