Viewers were obsessed with the glitz and glamour of season one, but what about 'Pose' season two?

Pose season one was a smash hit in both the UK and the US but what about season two of Ryan Murphy's NYC ballroom extravaganza?

The breakthrough programme centred on the underground world of 1980s ball culture in New York City, set at the height of the AIDS epidemic, and viewers were truly obsessed with the glamour, glitter and voguing.

Here's everything you need to know about season two of Pose.

Is there a trailer?

There's no official trailer for season two just yet, but a short 15 second-long preview for the show has already been released seemingly confirming the return of original cast members from series one.

You can watch it here:

When will it air?

Pose will return on Fx for a second season in "early June" in the States, although there has been no date for when we should expect it to appear in the UK.

But if the airing patterns for season one are anything to go by, there might be a while to wait for season two in the UK.

BBC Two picked up the first series in March 2019 for UK audiences, but Pose originally aired in the US in June 2018 - a nine month gap.

For now, get yourself up to speed with the first series, which is all available to stream on BBC iPlayer here.

Who will star?

Season one stars MJ Rodriguez (Blanca Rodriguez-Evangelista), Dominique Jackson (Elektra Abundance), Billy Porter (Pray Tell) and Indya Moore (Angel Evangelista) all feature in the teaser trailer, which is all but confirmation that they are returning, if you ask us.

There has been no official confirmation for the rest of the cast members at present, however, we do know that Patti LuPone will be starring in a guest role.

"[LuPone] loves the show and we wrote this part, so she's coming to play with us in a couple of weeks," producer Ryan recently told The Hollywood Reporter.

What will the plot be?

Ryan previously teased that the second series would pick up a year after the last.

This means the show will reportedly fast forward to the day Madonna released her hit track 'Vogue', which helped propel voguing into mainstream culture.

And it sounds like Pose season two will be even "bigger" than season one: "It's a first in so many ways and broken so many rules," producer Ryan told Deadline. "It's extraordinary...it's getting bigger and bigger."

What happened in season one?

Pose saw the characters living in alternative communities known as 'houses' or safe spaces run by mothers for those rejected by 'straight society' in season one.

As per the synopsis, season one "looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world".

There might be a long wait for season two to arrive in the UK, but it's a price we're willing to pay with a series as good as this one.
