Everything We Know About ITV's New Dating Show The Cabins

When ITV announced its new dating show The Cabins earlier this year, we rejoiced. It's the channel's attempt to fill the gaping hole left by Love Island when it wasn't aired this year due to coronavirus.

And now we're excited to learn that this brand new dating show will be on our screens sooner than we think. Just after New Year in fact.

Take a look at the exciting trailer here for a taster of what's to come:

Full of steamy hot tubs, crackling log fires and romantic outdoor seating, The Cabins is set to be our newest reality TV obsession and we can't wait.

Here's everything you need to know about the new show...

What is The Cabins about?

The show will follow six singletons as they move into a cabin in the countryside in order to find love. Going totally off-grid, the three couples will spend time with each other in a beautiful and romantic setting. What could go wrong?

By ditching the dating apps and giving up the ghosting, it's hoped that the couples will find enough of a spark to stay together.

And it's all set in a beautiful cabin. Need we say more?

Why is The Cabins different to other dating shows?

What's different about The Cabins is that, as well as going off-grid, each couple will spend the first night (and their very first date) together. That's a whole 24 hours in each other's company, with no distractions.

From the first time they meet each other, they will move into their own cabin with their partner.

Usually a big step in any relationship, contestants have just one day to decide if they'd like to continue seeing each other, or if they'd like to walk away from their new potential relationship. Will this be a wise move or not for the couples?

The description reads: "After 24 hours together the couples must decide if they are lovestruck or lovelorn."

Where will The Cabins be set?

All we know is that the luxury cabins are situated somewhere in the UK countryside.

The show's synopsis reads: "Each sumptuous cabin boasts a hot tub, games, romantic outdoor seating and fully equipped kitchens to rustle up date-worthy treats."

Sounds incredible tbh.

When will The Cabins air?

The brand new dating show will air on ITV2 and ITV Hub on the 4th January 2021.

Not long to wait now.

What else do we know?

ITV released the exciting trailer in December, with a first look at the show's contestants and the luxurious cabins they'll be staying in.

The above trailer has given us our first glimpse at the contestants, including one who has a unique outlook on love.

"I want to be a 'bag for life'," she enthuses. "I do not want to be your standard plastic bag."

We watch as the contestants meet each other for the first time and what exactly they make of the twist.

"Your face looks terrified," says one of the singletons to her date.

"I am so scared right now," he replies. Eek!

Not only that but we're shown clips of what's in store, from water fights and karaoke to blindfolded taste tests and sneaky kisses.

We can't wait!

Paul Mortimer, ITV's Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, said of the show: "This is a fantastic new format which challenges young people to delete the apps and attempt to date face to face, with no distractions.

"We're thrilled to be bringing this show to ITV2 viewers who will have front row seats, eavesdropping on our couples as they attempt to find true love."

The Cabins will air on on ITV2 and ITV Hub on 4th January 2021.
