Fans hungry for news of Fantastic Beasts 3 were left hanging by delays to production on the third instalment of the Harry Potter spin-off series - but no more.

Excitingly, the still-untitled 'threequel' will move into production in the spring of 2020, with the cast and crew reportedly jetting out to Rio de Janeiro and Berlin for filming.

When is it coming out?

If production goes ahead as expected, sources say the film should hit cinemas in November 2021, five years after the original and three years after its sequel.

What about the cast and crew?

Well, megawatt Harry Potter director David Yates is back behind the camera, while writer Steve Kloves is said to be joining J.K. Rowling in the scriptwriting room.

The addition of Kloves - who adapted seven of the eight Harry Potter movies for the big screen - is significant.

Both Fantastic Beats And Where To Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald were written by Rowling herself. It's thought that bringing another Potter veteran to the table could strengthen the script further.

Where will it be set?

If rumours are to be believed, the third chapter takes place in the 1930s, and plays out in both Brazil and Berlin.

While the series started with a primary focus on Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander, part three aims to please die-hard fans by moving Hogwarts and Dumbledore to centre stage.

Film magazine Variety reported that part three will "take the series back to its Hogwarts roots" and "is expected to put more of a spotlight on Jude Law's young Albus Dumbledore and set more action at Hogwarts".

Is this the last movie in the franchise?

Fantastic Beast is intended as a five-film franchise, with part three playing a crucial role.

Whereas 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them clocked up over $800 million (£625 million) worldwide, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald took home less, earning $650 million (£508 million).

Casting Johnny Depp as the sequel's villain may have contributed to the decline in numbers. At the time, the actor who was the focus of domestic abuse allegations from his ex-wife Amber Heard, allegations he denies.

So, could part three tell us more about why Dumbledore and Grindelwald's relationship broke down? Can we expect to see an epic stand-off between the two? We want answers - but with Fantastic Beasts 3 due to be released in November 2021, we'll have to wait.
