Fans of hit British series The End of The F***ing World get excited as the show is set to return on Channel 4 on Monday, 4th November.

In the first series, self-confessed psychopath James (Alex Lawther) is bored with killing animals so decides to kill a human. He and Alyssa (Jessica Barden) also set off on a surreal journey to find her real father

Psst...We have exciting news to share about the future of Pretty 52

The show, which scored a maximum of a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes last year, ended on a nerve-wracking cliff hanger between with James and Alyssa - meaning the possibilities of what happened are endless.

But viewers will finally get an answer as the second series will pick up two years following the pair's incident on the beach. However, not much else is known.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Channel 4's content boss Ian Katz said the new series will air on their station first and won't land on Netflix - in the UK at least - for another year.

He said: "Next time we'll run the whole series on the channel then there will be a conventional hold back of more than a year before people see it on Netflix. It really bugs me that people think that show is a Netflix show, I really want to reclaim ownership of it - it's absolutely a Channel 4 show."

In March, actress Jessica revealed that the beloved series had gone into production for the second season and shared an Instagram post of the show's shooting script.

"Merry Christmas. See you soon @teotfw," she captioned the photo.

The show's creator Jonathan Entwistle told Thrillist in January 2018 that he was exploring ways in which they could "continue the tone of the show."

He explained: "We're looking at what the people who loved the show are saying, to see how we can unpack that and how we could continue the tone of the show. Because I think that is so crucial.

"For me, it's about James and Alyssa - and I think that's what people have connected with. I think a season two would have to involve James and Alyssa somehow.

"I just love the world of them out there on the road, doing something in a weird world. So for me, any story that we expand keeps them out there somewhere."

Actor Alex also told Popbuzz the plot line for series two was currently open ended, commenting, "It was based on a comic book series by Charles Forsman and the comic ends where our episode ends.

'If there was a series two, it would give Charlie Covell - who wrote and adapted it - a chance to explore something completely from her imagination, which I would be very excited about because I think she's brilliant.

We don't know who's going to star in series two but considering the finale of season one ends on a massive cliffhanger there's a pretty big question to be answered over.

Jessica confirmed she is returning as Alyssa, Steve Oram will return as James' father Phil, Christine Bottomley as Alyssa's mum Gwen, and Navin Chowdhry as her abusive stepfather Tony.

We could see more of Wunmi Mosaku as DC Teri Darego and Gemma Welan as DC Eunice Noon and hopefully we'll meet some new characters.
