The Emmy Awards were just a little different this year, as many stars watched from home and 'Zoomed' into proceedings, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

But when it was Jennifer Aniston's turn to video chat with host Jimmy Kimmel, fans of Friends were delighted to see that she had thrown an impromptu reunion, joining alongside her co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox.

Check out the incredible moment below:

When Jen first appeared on the screen, she was looking comfy in a pink satin robe, and it wasn't long until Courteney soon popped up by her side, leaving Emmy presenter Jimmy rather taken aback.

When he asked why she was there, Courteney replied: "Of course I'm here, we live together".

Before Jen chipped in: "We've been roommates since 1994, Jimmy," making reference to the first episode of Friends.

It was then that Lisa appeared, also making a gag about living with her friends.

And her appearance was followed by that of Ozark star Jason Bateman (no, he wasn't in Friends, before you get confused...)

Jason had been chucked out of the Staples Centre earlier in the night, as part of one of Jimmy's on-stage skits.

As he appeared on screen, he turned to Jimmy and teased: "Oh, look who it is, the host with the most rudeness.

"You call to kick me out of my own house, too, freak?"

As much as we love it, Jason, we would have preferred Ross...

Earlier in the evening, Jen had been on stage with Kimmel to help present, but she'd since retreated to join in on the video chat fun.

She was also nominated for an award for her role as Alex Levy in Apple TV hit, The Morning Show.

However it was Zendaya scooped the prize instead, making history by bagging it at just 24 years old.

While Jen's Friends reunion wasn't quite the HBO show people have been waiting for, it sure did excite fans to see Monica, Rachel and Phoebe in one room again.

One fan tweeted: "It hasn't been our day, our week, our month, or even our year, but at least we got part of the Friends reunion! #Emmys".

As another emotionally penned: "OK. I AM NOT OK. Friends reunion #EmmyTNT".

The much anticipated Friends reunion, which was set to reunite David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc, has been put on hold due to Covid-19.

Described as an unscripted celebration, rather than a sequel to the sitcom, it's set to comprise of the cast sitting and reminiscing about their time filming.

Here's hoping we can all tune in, soon!
