Emma Watson has said kissing Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint was "the most horrifying thing" either of them have had to do in the upcoming 20th anniversary special, Return to Hogwarts.
After their romance had been building over eight movies, Hermione Granger and Ron Wealsey finally kissed in the franchise's final instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, much to fans' delight.
However, that delight wasn't shared by Emma or Rupert who recalled shooting the scene and admitted it felt weird due to their sibling-like bond off-screen.
Discussing the moment with Rupert and co-star Daniel Radcliffe, Emma cringed: "Obviously, us [looking to Rupert] kissing was the most horrifying thing either of us has ever had to go through."
David Yates, who directed the final four Harry Potter films, said: "I spoke to both of them in their trailers, made sure they were both comfortable.
"It was almost like prepping them for a major sports event."
Reflecting on the build-up to the kiss, Emma revealed that their characters were meant to have this "very dramatic make-out" but she and Rupert couldn't keep it together during the shoot.
"It was meant to be this dramatic make-out but you and I kept corpsing, like we just kept laughing and I was just really scared we were never going to get it because we just couldn't take it seriously," Emma added.
And pal Daniel, 32, did little to help either of them out and admitted he was "an absolute d**k" about their anxiety to film it.
The 32-year-old shared: "I did not make this better because I'd be told significantly that I was being an absolute d**k about this and was like, 'I'm going to come on set and watch you guys kiss'".
Sharing his own memories about filming the scene, Rupert confessed he "blacked out".
"I kind of think I blacked out," he said. "I just remember your face getting closer and closer to me.... It wasn't that bad I know."
"Every time you talk about this, you make it sound like an actual horror show in your head," Emma interjected.
She later added: "Kissing Rupert is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It just felt wrong so wrong on every level because Dan, Rupert and I are so much siblings."
