Buddy's Coming! The cast of the classic Christmas season must-watch Elf will reunite for a live table read... and it's for a good cause.

Will Ferrell, who starred as Buddy, an elf who makes the long journey from the North Pole to New York City to find his birth father, will be joined by many cast members from the 2003 film. This includes Zooey Deschanel, who played Jovie, Buddy's love interest, Bob Newhart aka Papa Elf, Buddy's adoptive father and Edward Asner, who portrayed Santa Claus.

The reunion will raise money for the Georgia Democratic Party, in order to support Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in the Senate runoff elections on 5 January, Variety reports. If Ossoff and Warnock are elected, the Senate will have a Democratic majority.

Zooey tweeted her excitement for the reunion on Twitter. She said: "If I were any more excited to be in the #ElfForGeorgia reunion I might explode into a burst of snowflakes," we can totally relate, Zooey.

"Join me, Will Ferrell, and many other amazing people from the original cast along with some special guests for our live reading!"

Will this mean we'll get a live version of Buddy and Jovie's rendition of 'Baby It's Cold Outside'?!

The Office actor Ed Helms, who will be a special guest at the live table read, also tweeted about the upcoming fundraiser.

"When they asked me to be a part of #ElfForGeorgia I couldn't believe it!" Helms wrote.

"It's one of the best holiday movies ever and proceeds go to benefit Dems in my home state."

We're already smiling, smiling's our favourite!
