Last week the official start date for RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 4 was revealed as December 14th, leaving fans across the world buzzing with excitement.

Perhaps more exciting, though, was the news that a huge elimination twist could be coming our way - something which RuPaul himself confirmed.

Speaking to EW as the new line-up was announced, he said: "The girls on All-Stars 4 are exciting and they have so much more to show.

"We always try to do something fresh and interesting, and sometimes it turns out in a way that you don't really expect.

"I love Trixie [Mattel]. She's a real superstar, but I really didn't count on the other girls who came back being so vindictive [and voting against Shangela]."

Confirming there's a new twist in the works for the upcoming series, Ru added: "I think it will shock fans, although I don't think they'll be as disappointed."

Shangela was the favourite to win Drag Race: All Stars 3, and fans were left shocked when she was 'unfairly' eliminated from the competition.

After being invited back, the Queens who had been eliminated earlier in the series were able to vote for their top two favourites - a change to the usual format where the finalists are decided by RuPaul.

Shangela's elimination caused outrage on social media, and calls were made for changes to the 'unfair' elimination process.

The line-up for All Stars 4 was released last week, and with some huge names in the mix, fans certainly won't be disappointed.

Alongside fan favourites like Farrah Moan, Latrice Royal and Monet X Change, we're also being treated to more controversial characters, including disgraced lip-syncer Valentina and meme queen Jasmine Masters.
